Our Story

Eleven Elevation Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Academy was founded on 11/01/2017 in Wrightwood, California, but our story started before then. In October 2016 Chad Keel moved to Wrightwood from San Clemente after being a coach at Guillobel Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Academy for 4 years. He met a guy named Mark who was able to host adult Brazilian Jiu Jitsu classes in his garage in Wrightwood. So with humble roots the gym quickly began to grow. That following summer Chad decided to host a Rewilding Summer Camp. This camp was hosted at Love Roots Yoga Shala in Wrighwood and it's focus was Nature Education and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. The kids who attended the camp feel in love with Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and their parents request a kids BJJ class to be held regularly at Love Roots Yoga Shala. The class was formed but quickly outgrew itself and needed a permeant home, thus Eleven Elevation Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Academy was formed.

Our mission is not only to teach self defense, but help individuals grow, and become more successful. A Jiu Jitsu Academy is so much more then a fitness studio. Here we use self defense as a medium to instill character development, self-motivation, confidence, discipline, leadership, and so much more. We offer classes for all skill sets young and old, and specialize with students with disabilities. Our instructors strive to lead by example and motivate each student individually while keeping the entire class on pace. We believe each student has the ability to bring the best version of themselves to flourishion through the practice of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
