Frequently Asked Questions
-
Our youngest students are 3 years old and are put into our 3-5 year old class. We do ask that even if your child is 3 that he or she is able to follow directions and speak in sentences. Otherwise, we’d like to hold off until your child can do those two things since they will need to communicate and follow directions in class.
-
Children attending their first introductory class can come dressed in comfortable clothing, preferably a long-sleeved shirt, and sweatpants to avoid scrapes from the mat. If you choose to enroll your child in our program a Jiu Jitsu gi will need to be purchased and they can be found online at reasonable prices. Your child can come to class in comfortable clothes until his or her uniform arrives.
-
Adults with no prior Jiu Jitsu experience must attend our Fundamentals class for at least a month before being allowed to attend the regular gi and no-gi classes.
-
The sport itself has many rules when it comes to grappling and competing, those are learned over time. The basic rules for our Dojo are:
Bow on and off the mats.
Come to class in a clean Gi (uniform).
No bare feet off the mat (always wear your shoes off the mat, especially in the bathroom).
No shoes on the mat (only bare feet on the mats).
Wear a rash guard or t-shirt under your Gi (uniform).
Leave your ego at the door.

Please let us know at least a week prior to your next billing cycle to ensure that the payment can be delayed before your next payment is processed. If you cancel your account instead of pausing and we happen to have a tuition increase, you will lose your grandfathered-in rate.
