The Cat who did Brazilian Jiu Jitsu

The town will forever miss it's honorary Mayor Max. Did you know that Max used to train Jiu Jitsu at Eleven Elevation Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Academy in Wrightwood? He was one of the Academy's first students, and made sure to train regularly with our adult class every Wednesday night. He loved to watch the other students during sparring and was always there to greet a new student.

Max loved to coach from the side lines and was often laying right next to groups as they wrestled on the mats. The loud noises and struggling amongst the adults class never seemed to faze him as he proved to be a loyal martial art student. Max loved to support local businesses in Wrightwood and made sure to give Eleven Elevation Brazilian Jiu Jitsu his support and love. We are blessed to have the Honorary Mayor's approval.

Unfortunately Max's life was cut short when he was hit by a car on Highway 2. Max was a very special soul and everyone who met him will remember him forever. He seemed to somehow be everywhere at once, and bring joy to the entire town. He is missed but never forgotten. Max was a master hunter occasionally catching rabbits and gophers and releasing them alive in town. Although Max was a master warrior he had a soft spot for children.

Max was often seen visiting the elementary school during school hours playing with the children. He also assisted regularly in walking the children to school. Representing all the qualities of a true Black Belt, Eleven Elevation Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Academy has decided to make Max an Honorary Black Belt. Max may be the first cat to ever receive a Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and although he is not around to receive the belt his legendary representation lives on.
